PROJ BRIEF
There are 16 million students enrolled in college across the United States. Worldwide = 200+ Million.
Many RIT students struggle to manage their meal plans and dining dollars efficiently throughout the semester.
SOLUTION
Design a unified system that brings all dining options together into a single, easy-to-use interface. The application helps students track and budget their dining choices, featuring a recommendation system with color coding and a card-shuffling mechanism. This approach makes it easier for students to stretch their meal plans and dining dollars throughout the semester.
RECOMENDATION COLOR SYSTEM

01.
Scan for Ease and Convenience
Students connect their RIT account by scanning their University ID barcode. A confirmation email auto-fills the code, making sign-up fast and seamless. Once logged in, they stay signed in until they choose to log out.
02.
Swipe for Options
The app’s dynamic recommendation system adjusts card order and color based on balance and dining choices, helping students easily track and budget their meals throughout the week.
03.
Double Tap for Details
Double tap to view a student’s 7-day transaction history. The balance automatically resets every Sunday, keeping information current and easy to follow.
04.
Swipe Down to Pay
Students can pay effortlessly with their phone—just swipe down to reveal the barcode and complete the transaction. Fast, convenient, and always in hand.
Design Process
Early on, I struggled with organizing information for a “less is more” budget tracker. I started by exploring typical tracking apps and iterated multiple designs to refine hierarchy, clarity, and usability.

After several high-fidelity iterations of the main landing screen, I selected the fifth version as it best conveyed the concept I was aiming for. I wanted students to focus primarily on their balance and status, using oversized type and a color-coding system to draw immediate attention.

Visual Inspiration
Inspired by photography with bold color blocks, I used simple shapes to highlight key features—minimal, clean, and eye-catching.
